Looking for Cherry Blossom at Cibodas Botanical Garden

img_20160827_135648I’m very interested in cherry blossoms. I tried to find about the cherry blossoms on Internet. I found that in Indonesia there are some places that there is cherry blossom tree. At Cibodas Botanical Garden is one place that there is a cherry tree.

img_20160827_135418I’ve been wanting to go to these places, but only a few months ago, I had the opportunity to go there. But when I went there the cherry blossoms do not bloom. What I have found only a few trees are still there was little interest. Actually, it was enough to make me happy. It was better than nothing at all to see cherry blossoms.

This botanical garden is one of the famous tourist destinations in Cibodas. This place is located at Mount Gede Pangrango Forest Complex, Cimacan village, District of Cipanas, Cianjur, West Java. This botanical garden is located at an altitude of 1,275 meters above sea level and is directly under the foot of Mount Gede Pangrango. Being at the foot of the hill, the air in this place is very cool and fresh.

img_20160827_123446_hdrBased on information from various sources, according to history Cibodas Botanical Garden was founded in 1852 by Johannes Elias Teijsmann, an expert on Dutch Botany, as a branch of the Bogor Botanical Gardens. Initially he opened the botanical garden for quinine plantations. But Turns Cibodas land not suitable for cinchona. With 2,380 mm of rainfall per year and an average temperature of 18 degrees Celsius, finally the botanical garden is devoted to a collection of plants moist tropical highlands, such as the variety of conifers and ferns.

Cibodas Botanical Garden has 5,831 examples of the plant. Various variants of the trees there, either the old trees and young trees. supported by a collection of trees are so many types and variants. There are various collections that we can see in this botanical garden, including: several trees, cacti, orchids, palm, medicinal plants, cherry, and some other flower varieties.

Facilities provided is very complete, including renting a horse. Everything looks green, fresh, and beautiful. It is interesting to go back again to this place someday.
